When it comes to wearing a mask, the science is clear: masking in public can help prevent COVID-19 from spreading to others. Despite this, masking guidance has been inconsistent and most often is the first intervention dropped by public health officials, communities, and individuals. Pandemic Action Network was an early masking advocate and continues to promote consistent mask-wearing behavior and policies to stop the spread of the coronavirus and protect the most vulnerable.
