Gender in Pandemic Preparedness and Response: A Pandemic Action Network & Women in Global Health Working Group – July 2023

At the July working group meeting, Elo Otobo (Save The Children UK) and Jackline Kiarie (Amref Health Africa) discussed how gender, equity, and the unique needs of marginalized populations are being addressed in preparations for September’s UN High-level Meeting on Strengthening Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response. Co-chairs Rosemary Mburu (WACI Health) and Dr. Sumegha Asthana (Women in Global Health) facilitated a discussion on ways to influence the ongoing negotiations. Readout and notes are available.

 

The Gender in Pandemic Preparedness and Response Working Group is hosted by the Pandemic Action Network and Women in Global Health. This working group provides a platform for members to share insights on gender equity within the ongoing pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response processes.
